Proposing action on congested routes
If capacity is still insufficient to allow all the applications for train paths to be satisfied even after the coordination phase, we will declare the section of line in question to be congested. We will then prepare an analysis of capacity which will identify the reasons for the congestion and highlight options for relieving it in the short and medium term.
Improving processes to meet future needs
Train paths which meet the needs of the market and efficient processes are key factors for a competitive railway. We therefore commit ourselves to continuous improvement of the processes and supporting documentation both for domestic and international movements. We base the action we take on regular discussions with customers in railway undertakings and analyses of processes with all our stakeholders.
Helping the authorities to set the rules of play
We draw on our domestic and international experience to support the relevant bodies in the interpretation of statute and in the development of rules which are practical and appropriate to the market.
